Individual Membership

February 1, 2018

Greetings and Happy New Year,

Great News! We have completed our 2018 Schedule of Tournaments, enabling us to send the membership application much earlier than usual. The $25 membership fee will remain the same, whether mail-in or online.

We have 9 tournaments scheduled (see attached) at mostly private courses which should appeal to you. We have done all we can to keep the entry fees down as much as fiscally possible. As mentioned on all of our entry forms, each entry fee includes greens and cart fess (varies venue by venue ), bag handler tips, the prize money portion which provides Pro Shop certificates to all net and gross winners by flight and nominal SJGA Administration costs.

This year, we have added two courses we have never played before. The Amateur Championship will be held at Cherry Valley in Mercer County and the Senior / Pre - Senior Amateur at Pine Barrens in Jackson, N.J. These venues offer southern Jersey golfers an opportunity to play courses at which they normally would not have access.

Beginning February 1st we will be launching our online membership form. You may also visit the website to obtain a mail-in membership form. Beginning March 15th you will be able to enter any tournaments on the schedule. Per last year, you will also be able to enter multiple tournaments at one time making it easier for you to put these events on your calendar. Please note: Since many of these tournaments will be played on private courses, the entries could fill more quickly than usual and we will not be allowed to extend the field. Please respond promptly when the entries open on Thursday, March 15th to secure your spot.

REMINDER: The 2018 SJGA Manual will be available under the Tournaments Button. Whether you choose to print it out or not, it is important to review any changes in policies and formats as well as any rules and regulations that have occurred for 2018. It is a player’s responsibility to be aware of any changes to rules and regulations applicable to tournament play.

Curious to know more about us? Go to our website to see who governs SJGA, its history, our mission and especially our Junior Golf Initiative.

Our membership has continued to increase, with over 100 players from northern counties and we are exceedingly grateful for your participation in our events. Our ability to continue in our mission is solely based on your support of our organization. Please read the attached letter regarding a major component of SJGA’s mission - Junior Golf.
