Essay Excerpt: 

One of the most successful golfers of all time - Bobby Jones believed that,” Golf  is a game that is played on a five inch course - the distance between your ear.” When I meet new people I can quickly judge what type of person they are through their actions on the golf course. Two summers ago I was in a junior tournament in Ohio, and in my group was a teenager from Hawaii. Although the course was playing ridiculously long due to the wind and wet conditions, the teenager from Hawaii was the only kid in my group not to complain. I still remember at one point during the round it was raining sideways and Robert (the Hawaiian said,” I am happy whenever

I am on the golf course, even on the days like today.” As a result of his mental toughness and true appreciation for the game, Robert went on to win the difficult tournament. By playing one round with Robert, I learned that keeping a positive outlook on the golf course wins tournaments.
